Social, service and leadership programs
Sigma Phi has a rich tradition of fun social activities and service projects. We host tailgates with our alumni before home football games and host various theme parties throughout the year. Most of our events are casual, but we also host formal events.

We participate in UW-Madison’s Humorology philanthropy event each year. Additionally, each year the chapter decides on its own philanthropy. Recent examples include helping at Habitat for Humanity, helping at a local food pantry, shoveling snow for neighborhood seniors, etc. Taking care of our national landmark home so it can be enjoyed by the public is also a significant commitment. Each spring we also host a neighborhood faculty tea.

On leadership, we are active participants in the Inter-fraternity Council at UW- Madison, with one of our members often holding a IFC officer or committee head position. In addition, each year we send two members to Sigma Phi’s national convention to attend an Undergraduate Leadership Workshop and to participate in the deliberative process of running the Society on a national basis. Undergraduate chapters of Sigma Phi have a significant voice and vote in decisions on the the most important national issues.
